Veri*Factu · Mandatory from 2027

What is Veri*Factu and how to comply

What is Veri*Factu? It is the verifiable invoicing system the Spanish Tax Agency requires under Real Decreto 1007/2023, mandatory in Spain in 2027 for companies and the self-employed. Your invoicing software must comply, and FacturaCom already does.

The new law

  • ! Every invoice must be tamper-proof, traceable and carry its QR code.
  • ! The system must be able to communicate with the Spanish Tax Agency.
  • ! Adapting late can lead to penalties.

Dates

When Veri*Factu becomes mandatory

The Veri*Factu obligation comes into force in 2027: from 01/01/2027 for companies and from 01/07/2027 for everyone else, including the self-employed (Real Decreto-ley 15/2025). The Spanish tax authorities have announced a further postponement that has not yet been published in the BOE (Spain's official gazette). FacturaCom already complies with Real Decreto 1007/2023 and Veri*Factu. If your current software is not ready, it is best to switch in good time: we install FacturaCom, bring over your data from your old system and train your team.

If you are self-employed, see what changes for you in Veri*Factu for the self-employed. What the software does with each invoice (record, hash and QR code): how Veri*Factu works.

How the switch works, step by step: switching invoicing software. And if you sell over the counter, the FacturaCom POS also issues receipts with their QR code.
